Pulled the trigger on 3 Trek 520's
Time to quit pushing the limits of our hybrids.
Ordered a Trek 520 Disc a few days ago. Test rode it today and ordered 2 more for my wife and son. I've looked at other bikes but have dreamed of this one for many years. Should be completed in a couple days with all the extras and ready to roll.
Can't wait. No really... can't wait.

Very neat- any plans for using them yet? Curious too- how old is your son? Always interested in hearing in what fashion families tour together.

My son is 15. Last one in the house. Due to the approaching winter and time constraints we are probably going to be limited to day rides and over-nighters until spring. We have plans of a more mobile existence exploring the USA via 6 wheels (RV) and 2 wheels (bike). It's possible these plans could come together sooner and then we'd ditch winter, but we'll see. Until then, we will be using them a lot for our city, shopping and commuting rides as well.

Trek should send you guys some t-shirts or something for the bulk order ;^) Having same bike could simplify toting spare parts & tools. RV & bikes sounds fun. Common to see RV's with bikes on the back but they're usually for short rides around the beach or campground. But would be handy for serious touring.

I love my 520. Let me just suggest that you see if you can get the shop to give you a good credit on those crap Bontrager tires and use the money toward some Schwalbe Marathon Pluses. If the Bontragers haven't been used yet, they may well do it, and the Bontragers are flats waiting to happen in my experience.

I love that bike. It was one of my top pics when shopping for a new bike a few months ago. I killer deal on the Novara -Safari came up, and it was one of my considerations, so I went for it, and I have no regrets. Congrats on such a great bike!
