I also might strip it and try trading the frame for one that fits better...we'll see.
It is still listed on the Philly CL, did it not work out? If you do end up parting it out, I am interested in that stem and seatpost (it might be panto'd, it is hard to tell from the pics). What a beauty and an incredible price...

This is a Vintage 1986 Trek Model 560 Pro-Series Road Bike in ready to ride condition. A racing geometry frame, ultra light Reynolds 531 alloy steel that fully lugged and double butted. A medium 56 cm frame with a 33" stand over for those about 5'7" to 6' in height. Exceptionally well maintained, except for a cosmetic left brake lever boot repair and a few paint scratches, this bike is "Clean as a Whistle" and looks close to new! Full Trek Factory specs can be found in the 1986 brochure @ www.vintage-trek.com

This classic Trek road bike is ready to ride and needs NOTHING! Price: $375

The above advice was given with my heart in the right place. It is easy to jump too quick at something and then find out later that what you bought isn't really what you wanted. I am guilty of having an itchy trigger finger, too.

It's in my living room...pics to follow. The chain ring, stem and seat post are all panto.

I haven't decided what to do with it. It's far too large for me and the parts are too large for me as well (135-140mm stem, 175mm cranks). I'm leaning towards selling it hole as parting this out seems like a sin.

If you decide to part it out, let me know how much you want for the frame since it's my size!

I can post a link to it

https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/bik/1879643722.html

was not originally chrome . . . .

And warning-- it is a CL "auction"

And one more thing-- I recall seeing a cryptic ad for a paramount a few days back. I wonder if this is the same bike, in the hands of whoever bought it. The original ad is gone, but someone's post challenging the ad is still there:

https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/bik/1876882627.html

they couldn't be talking about the same bike, could they?

Make me an offer..if I don't reply within 30 min, I don't like the offer....try agian

I just love to bid against myself. I can see some poor guy sitting next to his computer waiting to re submit a higher bid after 30 minutes.

14 hours to go, seems like a deal. Just have to paint it and find a suitable fork.

Still...it is a heck of a beauty. Given the parts on it, I don't think it's the one that ad reffered to. It most certainly doesn't have cheap parts or crappy lug work. Granted...the seller seems like a schmuck.

...and the rear dropout eyelets are a later addition as well (the ad only mentions the seatstay braze-ons, but the d/o eyelets are too small around to be original).

So, it's been pretty well "customized", or some would say "butchered".

I think you folks are being a little too harsh on this one...it's a beautiful bike, the changes aren't drastic and were done well...the chroming looks good.

I'll say this...the seller is a schmuck. I contacted him and his resposne was curt and fairly rude. I still think the bike is a beaut.

Nice looking copper International

**Beautiful 1976 Raleigh International Road Bike Campagnolo** - $600 (Manitowoc)

https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/bik/1879692679.html

Up for sale is a close to mint 1976 Raleigh International Road Bike. I believe it to be a 58cm or 60cm. Built for a taller person. This bike is in immaculate shape for its age. Campy Nuovo parts, beautiful chrome lugs, and Brooks saddle. Wheels and tape are the only things that are not original. I would imagine there is less than 500 miles on this bike. Looking for a good home. Call/text me at 920 645 1626. Delivery is available. Thanks, George

No, the ad was in response to a piece of junk that really did have a flashlight duct taped to the bars, and wasn't even a Schwinn, as far as I could tell.

It is a real Paramount for sure. The serial number is Paramount and in the correct location. This bike started out as an original Paramount. Now, don't be too critical of the modifications. It was possible to send a used frame back to Schwinn for repairs, repaint and updates. I have one such Paramount. If a person is interested, contact Waterford and have Richard Schwinn do a research report on the bike. Mine cost $50 back in 2005.

+1...this is a really neat bike...and if I were local, and if the seller were a little more polite, I'd probably be going after it.

It's not like someone hacked off a Derailleur hanger...they made some very sensible changes and added useful things.
