Vintage Univega Metroten 10 speed - $200
https://neworleans.craigslist.org/bik/2159035430.html
Vintage Univega Metroten 10 speed road/commuter bike. All original parts in near mint condition. Suntour shifters and derailleurs, 27 inch road tires, all aluminum/ chromolly construction. This bike is fast and you wont find one in this condition again. Call Joe at 504 906 4186 to view or test ride. Please do not email. I rarely check it. Thanks.

Terrible shots from ad (wipe your lens, dude):

Random better shot of same model from web:

Anyone know anything about these, quality-wise? I couldn't find a lot of threads about them.

1990 Centurion Momentum (Diamondback) - - $180 (Lowell)

Date: 2011-01-15, 11:17AM EST
Reply to: sale-wn6ph-2161794346@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

1990 Centurion Momentum (Diamondback), 14 speed, 22" frame. I received this bike partially disassembled, and added the following parts to make it road worthy totaling close to $100:

Front disc fork
Front wheel and tire
Front and rear tubes
Foam handlebar grips

There is some damage to the stickers on the top tube and down tube from the bike being leaned on hard surfaces. Paint overall is in good condition (a few dings here and there), but there is some rust around the edges of the bottom bracket lugs. Chain has been soaked, cleaned, and lubed. The entire bike has been scrubbed and polished to its present state. Shifting and ride are super smooth, and if the bike wasn't so tall I'd actually keep it for myself, but at 5'8" its not exactly a good fit.

Bike has Rear Brake Only! I didn't have a caliper on hand that fit with this fork. Caliper needs brake pads to be 2 3/4"-3" below the center of the caliper mounting bolt.

For an older model this bike is very light (25lbs), and will make an excellent road bike, commuter, or fixie. A new paint job, or detailing of the frame lugs would really make the lugged frame stand out. The addition of a newer/modern rear tire and wheel with cassette would further lighten the bike, and bring it a bit more up to date.

1990 Centurion Momentum (Diamondback) Specs:

Avenir Equipped
Tange Infinity CrMo tubing (Tange tubesets are high-quality double butted CrMo steel)
Lugged frame (approximately 5lbs)
Shimano Exage 300EX: shifters, crank, derailleurs, rear brake caliper
22"/55cm frame
700cX23 wheels/tires
14 speed
-Front Matrix iSO 3 wheel w/Michelin Megamium 2 tire, and Shimano 105 hub
-Rear original Araya rim with Heng Shin tire
Centurion drop bars w/new foam padding/grips
Alloy stem
New disc ready CrMo fork

Centurion was a brand of bicycles created in 1969 by Mitchell (Mitch) M. Weiner and Junya (Cozy) Yamakoshi,[1] who co-founded Western States Import Co. (WSI) in Canoga Park, California (initially Wil-Go Imports) to design, specify, distribute and market the bicycles. The bikes themselves were manufactured initially in Japan by companies including H. Tano Company of Kobe and later in Taiwan by companies including Merida. The Centurion brand was consolidated with WSI's mountain bike brand Diamond Back in 1990. WSI went out of business in 2000.

Vintage Shimano 600 "arabesque" Groupo for Sale - $89 (McMinnville)

Vintage Shimano 600 Complete Arabesque Groupo in great condition. Also included are the following: French handlebars, stem, lugged front fork, cranks, basically everything but the wheelset. This set will come on the frame as I don't own the tools to remove them and don't want to pay someone to do so. The frame has a crack but the lugged forks are good. Questions of course are welcome. This would be an excellent way to create an ideal vintage road bike, simply add your frame and wheelset, and brooks saddle and you're in for smooth sailing. I believe the shifters are 6 speed friction shifters. I'm considering selling the Mavic wheelset with hubs & rear cog as well if you're interested (simply let me know). Just listed this on Ebay but if you win, save the $25 for shipping and I'll deliver in the Portland area. Email with questions please, thanks )
I am bidding on this! Wish me luck!
I hope I win!

Vintage 56cm Crescent Steel Frame + Fork, BB, Headset
eBay ad

Information from Sheldon Brown...Crescent (Monark)
"A Swedish bike not to be confused with the American marque of the same name from the turn of the century. The classic model is Orange with funky checkerboard graphics. Workmanship, if you could call it that, was lousy, and the bikes had memorable toe-clip overlap. We don't mind some overlap, but this was more like foot-in-the-spokes overlap. Made for an interesting ride. They were actually a fairly competent race bike, and I knew some people who devastated a number of fields on these orange beasts. Most surviving examples were probably repainted and then met untimely deaths from commuter hell accidents, so examples with nice original paint are rare. Even rarer are those who would pay serious money for one. Figure $675 for one in guideline condition."

2001 Bianchi Campione road bicycle made in Italy - $199 (Center City)

Date: 2011-01-17, 8:10PM EST
Reply to: sale-cxjsj-2165952599@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I've got a 2001 Bianchi Campione bicycle in beautiful Celeste blue color. Made in Italy, the last year Bianchi made them all there. Below are component specs, etc. (pulled from bikepedia.com but verified on the bike itself).

Frame Construction: TIG-welded
Frame Tubing Material: Chromoly, double-butted
Fork Brand & Model: Bianchi
Fork Material: Chromoly, double butted, unicrown crown

Component Group: Road Mix
Brakeset: Campagnolo Veloce dual pivot brakes, Campagnolo Mirage Ergo levers
Shift Levers: Campagnolo Mirage Ergo
Front Derailleur: Campagnolo Mirage, braze-on
Rear Derailleur : Campagnolo Mirage
Crankset: Campagnolo Veloce, 39/53 teeth
Pedals: Look 206
Bottom Bracket: Campagnolo Veloce, 111mm spindle
BB Shell Width: Unspecified
Rear Cogs: 9-speed, 13 - 26 teeth
Chain: KMC, 1/2 x 3/32"
Seatpost: Bianchi aluminum, 27.2mm diameter
Saddle: Selle Italia Trimatic
Handlebar: ITM Bianchi Anatomic
Handlebar Stem: ITM
Headset: 1" Miche Racing

Hubs: Campagnolo Mirage
Rims : Mavic CXP 21, 32-hole
Tires : 700 x 23c Vittoria Zefir
Spoke Brand: Stainless steel, 1.8mm double-butted
Spoke Nipples: Unspecified

It looks to be in pretty good shape and all original parts, including the original tires. There is one spot on the rear chain stay where it is damaged. Included is a picture of it. The metal is dented in but does not appear to be cracked or split, and the damage is only on one side of the tubing, the inside half of the chain stay against the wheel is in good shape. It looks like it's been touched up with color matched paint. Don't see any other damage, everything else you might see is either road grime or from being in storage.

I've got more pictures that I can send you upon request. The bike lives in my storage unit in New Jersey, so I can't show it on super short notice, but if we set something up, I can go pick it up and bring it over, unless you're closer to Delran and want to meet me there.

Thanks for looking!

I missed a Campy donor locally for $150. Now it's on eBay for $600 It turns out to be just large enough for me to ride as is, but at least it wasn't the other orange period bike, the Veloce.

I can't imagine that would last at all in Philly. I emailed 20 minutes after it was posted in NH.
