Mercier Kilo Team Or SE Premium Brew Track? Looking for that lugged frame!
I am looking For a Lugged track bike. And I've came by these two options. The Mercier Kilo team From Bike Island, An the SE Premium Brew Track Bike from Bikes Direct. What would you recommend? Also If money wasnt the answer would you buy the Eddy Mercks UMX-S? Cause I was just going to buy the eddy merckx lolz.

Are you talking about buying the frameset for the SE PB, or the whole bike?
I was trying to make that decision a while back, and I preferred the Kilo Team. Unless you like "dragons." Spicer cycles could do a custom build for you as a lugged frame(set), I think.
Long term, I chose the 722ts instead of the Kilo Team/Maxway frames.

The more I see the Dragon PB the more I think it's really not that bad.
I'd say that for the money, the PB is your best bet. And, the Merckx can't fairly be compared to the other two.
If you are just looking for the framset, did you notice that Bike Island has it on sale for $199?

Hi guys! Long time lurker here withmy first post.
I just received my Kilo Team frame from bikeisland yesterday (57 orange crush). It took awhile as it had to cross the pacific ocean. Anyways, my cousin is expecting his SE PB also from bikeisland later this month.
I'm happy with the Kilo Team and i can't wait to ride it. So far i've only gotten as far as installing the bb. I still lack some parts to complete it, but should in a week or two.
Just chiming in.

Some people will say the Premium Brew is a better value as a full bike, but if you're doing a repaint, that means you won't be keeping a lot of the parts. If that's the case, just buy a frame you like. Hell, buy yourself an actual orange Motobecane from the 70's. That sucker will be steel, lugged, and might be sweeter than either of those options.

Riding like its 1990
I'd still like a PB for the different lugs and to strip it to bare steel.
I've got a Centurion Ironman I'll be converting for kicks. I can't see myself buying the frameset just for the different lugs unless I sell a perfectly good (or better in some ways) frameset I have in the garage.

Hey, I have 6000+ miles of beating the **** out of my SE in three states, on roads, paved paths, grass, and limestone trails. I've gotten hit by no less than four cars with it, and it's still up and kicking.

Why do you want to change the name of the bike for? I don't get it - how is changing the name from SE to something else going to make it a better bike ??

You asked if you get the PB, what could you re-name it because you don't like the brand SE. Changing the name from SE to something else isn't going to make the dragons fly away. Maybe I'm just missing the point of what you were asking.

It seems like you want the SE PB. Just get it. You don't need some schleps on a forum to give you permission.
