Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Same. Could definitely go one size smaller, but if it's comfortable as it stands now, I wouldn't worry about it unless .. You're like me! And it bites you in the back of the head every time you look at the thing. :/

It looks like the rear wheel is so far back it will fall off. Shorten the chain? But I love the build!

thank you! researching a lot of threads on here helped me piece it together. Happy to say the s300's and strap setup both came from Retrogression! straps are the v2.

and yes i grabbed the tape because i got it on sale and liked it at first but its starting to bug me now so im going with an all black tape. any recommendations?

I like fizik, but that's just me. Lizard Skins is good, or so I've heard, but it's pretty pricey.

It is too long, the chain stays on this are much shorter than my 722ts hence the extra length. I'm going to knock a link out and I have chain tensioners to add as well.

Is there like a rule to follow on how to angle road drops correctly? I have been told by a few people's it's about preference.

Idk why my saddle looks angled down forward like that
I will check out those brands.

For your size frame the ends of the bars should be somewhere between parallel to the ground and pointing at the rear axle.

I can totally see that setup being comfy if you spend a LOT of time in the drops though. The "ergo" section of the drops parallel to ground could be pretty comfy.

There is definitely no riding the ramps with that setup tho.

Please get metal cages, singles or doubles. It would look much better. (And I like metal cages more anyway.)

I like the rigid-plastic cages like those made by All-city than I do metal cages.

I've got some bikes with regular road drops on them that are definitely more comfy; just those track drops were definitely more of a thinner (read: aero) profile...they did what they were supposed to do, but I just never realized how right Scrod and the rest of the crew here were in regards to aero drops: They are uncomfortable if you're not actually on the track.

I forgot to snap a pic yesterday, but I'll try and get one today. Ride safe!
