Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Somewhere back around 1989 I swore I would never ever again

but they are appropriate for two projects I am working on, and these were ~$50/pair, so it might be worth it.

(for the guy who pedals the bike) [although I won't be able to wear it for a few months]

why because its heavy? I've been carrying a Bulldog mini and a 6' x 1/2" cable for a number of years. This with a 3' chain should be lighter if nothing else

A bulldog mini & any accessory cable never weighed 9.80 lbs... around 3 is correct... the krypto NY chain & lock is 10.80 lbs. The only guys that I see using them full time are motorcyclists who park on the street.

I posted the wrong photo I bought the Series 4 not the new series 5, it says +8lbs...my cable wasn't a commercial accessory cable it was something I had the metalworkers on the ship make using some leftover elevator cable it was more than 5lbs...F@#%^G heavy. If its too heavy I also have a motorcycle so it will be useful regardless...

i had one like that with a smaller circular lock when i first got my motorcycle, i found it to be more of a hassle than it was worth and just started parking my bike on the sidewalk

tried using it again when i started commuting on my fg and it lasted one trip, felt like i was wearing a weight training vest lol

if youre not going far or climbing hills its probably not a big deal, im sure it does it job
