Welcome to the forum and to cycling.

I am confused though, watching TV and the movies I thought all gay guys were slim, buffed, made tons of money, lived in incredibly well-decorated homes and drove super cool cars.

As long as you are a good person, no one should give a rat's what gender your sexual oartner is.

Ride often, rider safely.

The only offensive post was the one that mentioned banning posters who object to the thread. It wasn't you, and it was entirely predictable who made the post.

Nerys and I will be in contact when we have our next joint ride - neither of us is riding outside during the current cold snap.

Take no notice of this guy ozzie. He's my personal troll. Neil has his panties in a twist over me as I called him out as a self-involved hypocrite awhile back. Stick around and you will make your own mind up about Neil's personality. Most of the 'old timers' have.

Again, welcome!

That's a shame. People getting worked up over such a topic instead of the truly important issues like the sort of camp stove Chefisaac should use.

Fits the bill so far. The dish I made yesterday and posted was from stove. Worked wonders.

Serious issue.

Seriously funny thread!

Very well handled by every poster. Now if we could all get along like this in real life...

I have rarely if ever seen anyone judge other riders at any of the rides I have been a part of. Weather it is a big ride like TOSRV or the local coffe shop ride and every ride in between.

Welcome to the site!

Ozzie - welcome to the forum. The C/A is safe place. We all have common interests - weight loss and cycling. This is a place we can openly discuss that without being criticized by people who don't understand our journey. I don't care what race, gender, orientation or political party you subscribe to, welcome the the C/A corner!

As a moderator though, I have to say that this is the Clyde/Athena cycling forum. This is not the place that we discuss politics, religion, sexual orientation, gun control, etc. etc, etc. Ok, sometimes we digress into off-topic conversations, but the admins have zero tolerance for conversations that will get nasty and cause forum rules to be broken. Politics, religion, sexual orientation, etc., etc., and especially etc., will cause threads to spiral into the abyss and cause flame wars, leading to the mod staff having to hand out infractions, bans, etc. We've seen it way too many times, so to keep the tone civil, it's just not allowed. Not a freedom of speech issue, just a proper placement issue. For GLBT discussions, I believe those are limited to the P&R forum.

Also, ankle-biting pissing matches will not be tolerated here. Let's all play nice.

The stove reference was to a thread in Touring that became a brawl over the 'correctness' of white gas vs alcohol stoves. Chefisaac lit the match that ignited the argument.

Oh, I try PhotoJoe. I've asked Neil to not comment on my posts (as I dont on his) as I have no interest in his opinions. As you can see, hes so desperate to instigate an issue that he will twist an innocent comment into something bigoted.

So I ask publicly, Neil, please put me on your banned list as I have no interest in your opinions or your 7-page threads on going for a walk in the park.

Thanks!

I know Neil...was being facetious. I am in no way picking.

I remember his thread find a bit of humor in such things.

I think your looking at the wrong 'argument'. Try post #27. Neil and I have a history. Unfortunately, he tends to derail threads with his actions.

I apologize to ozzie if Neil's obsession with me derailed his thread.

Same here. It is perhaps my favorite example of needless arguing on Bike Forums.

Though there might have been a good amount of arguing, there was a lot of learning to it to be frank.
