Welcome to April, everyone!
Over the weekend I rebuilt a wheel with new spokes and nipples, first time I’d laced up a wheel since 1973 or so. Came together well, will see how it holds up!

Nice! I got screwed out of my weekend rides by a combination of water polo schedule / venue changes and a work catastrophe on Sunday.

Well, you've got a mileage credit carry forward from your double last week, so you're covered through yesterday. But don't let it happen again!

There was a double double last month in Inyo and there's still one on the schedule for June 22nd - The Grand Tour double double:
New for 2019, elite California Triple Crown Double Century riders will be encouraged to go beyond the 200 miles to riding 400 miles in one weekend. The Grand Tour Highland Double-Double has been added to the California Triple Crown schedule for 2019. It is being ran in conjunction with the Grand Tour Highland Double Century. The two California Triple Crown Doubles must be completed in 36 Hours in one weekend. If the first Double is on one Saturday, the second Double can’t be ridden on the next Saturday a week later. The challenge is to ride 400 miles in one weekend. Riders who complete the Grand Tour Highland Double-Double in 36 Hours or the Grand Tour Highland Quad in 24 Hours will receive California Triple Crown credit for completing Two Double Centuries.

Miles are like ice cream (or alcoholic beverages), some is good, more is better, but too much makes you sick!

My fitness is again moving in positive direction
Last week was told to get on sidewalk because the road was for f’ing cars!
Got a new helmet that is colorful for commute and is MIPS.
I am attempting the 30 Days of Biking challenge for April. I have begun commuting by bike. It gives me something to aim for.

Driving 400 miles in one day is borderline miserable. Cycling 200 miles in one day sounds horrible. 400 in one weekend? Let me think of how many things I'd rather do... ♾
I took these during a massive 24 mile ride last week. The four hundred miles of driving came just the day before-- to get there.

This has video of jogger that got mad at us for riding on road out of nowhere last fall in Dana Point. Followed by the driver who pointedly told me to ride on sidewalk

That jogger chick was bizarre? I forget her opening line. I think she said we were selfish for riding bikes on the road, cause we might get run over. Yeah the same road she’s jogging on.

camera audio didn’t pick ip the early part of what she was saying but did catch her calling us selfish and narcissistic. And that’s why nobody stops when we get hit. She did like the cute uniforms.

Yes, narcissistic, that’s the word she used.

I have a question related to carbon fiber wheels. Are you not supposed to inflate to high pressure like say 110 with Carbon Wheels? I heard someone telling another person to inflate to like 85PSI with their carbon wheels. First I heard that you are supposedly not supposed to inflate them to normal high pressure. I don't feel comfortable at my weight with my tires inflated less than 110PSI. In fact I often go to 120 and have done so with my Carbon wheel

great pics! I didn't get to see sun there until I was south of the Devil's Slide tunnel.

Oh, it went full Bay Area on us when we were there-- it rained every night and almost every day, but never for any long period of time. I got drizzled on a little every ride, but not even enough to get wet. That place has it's very own climate-- go five minutes in a straight line, and you are likely to experience sunny, windy, raining, really bright, and very dark.
It dumped buckets the first night we were there, and my son has an utter inability to avoid puddles, so his shoes were soaked all the way through. He had just the one pair. He ended up with a hella-fly pair of white Adidas Superstars (shell toes!) from some ritzy joint up on Haight. I almost suspect skullduggery on his part.

Nice bay and bridge shots, thanks. I've ridden a bit in the east bay, a quick stopover while driving home from Clear Lake.

I have 28mm endurance tires on my roubaix and the max pressure on those is 80 psi, which seems really low... but so comfy. Only flat I've had in 600 miles on those was a little pinhole on my double - I think I nailed a rock but didn't see it. No snake bites at any rate.

I asked November Bicycles, where I got my carbon wheels, he suggested not going over 90 psi. These are wide rims (28.5mm external) and I am running 30mm tubeless, they measure almost 32mm inflated. I usually inflate to ~ 63F/77R, I weigh ~208, tires are rated to 80 psi.
On my Roubiax I have HED Belgium rims (23mm external), 25mm Conti 4000s, they measure 28mm inflated. I run ~87F/100R.

For some reason it is not letting me quote both of you @TrojanHorse and @jimincalif regarding my question.
Seems there IS a sticker on my carbon wheels that does indicate the max PSI of 115. So I'm good doing what I have been doing with my tire pressure.

That's cause we're oil and vinegar (or Anteater and Trojan) - don't mix well!
I was googling rims last night, saw a lot of carbon rims with 3 digit pressure ratings. Good that you know what yours are now.
