Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't exactly know what the frame is, I was told raleigh but I have doubts. It's just a normal lugged steel frame with a lugged fork and it dose have a superfluous little heart under the bottom tube. Also there is a serial number under the crank. the red bike maybe 15 pounds and built like a russian helicopter but it can roll.

Um, not to be a nit-picker, but if it has full Campy Record, why did you let them put a SHIMANO sticker on it? Nice bike, none-the-less.

Bought the bike used. I think the previous owner upgraded the rims and had them replace the shimano with Campy. I'm not too concerned about the stickers on the bike.

I ride a hybrid. It's a Cannondale T800. I know it's not a Litespeed but I live in the Adirondack Mountains of NY and on a dirt road. The hybrid handles the road pretty well although most of my riding is on paved hilly mountain roads. I’m considering a road bike but trying to figure out what I should get that gives me the most for my money.

The 5900 frames have had shimano stickers on them for a while now I think. Probably under the clearcoat, and annoying to remove.

Yeah, I'm not going to mess with it. I'd rather look at a shimano sticker than a big, black smudge where a sticker used to be or (even worse) ruin the paint job.

You can always change your Campy components for Shimano parts.

Another option is to put one of those Lizard Skin (or other type) protectors on your chainstay.

This is an update on my 04 Specialized Sirrus:

Modification:
- Syntace C2 Aero Bar
- Nashbar TT Bullhorn Bar
- Cane Creek 200TT Brake Lever
- Shimano Ultegra 8/9 Speed Bar Con
- Travel Agent (Front/Rear Brakes)

it rides so different now.. but very comfortable and perfect for the climbs... now i just need to adjust and tweek the setting and then i'll be good as gravy!
