Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Lezyne GPS computers look awesome!

Personally, these look great. They have a ton of features and the pricing is on point. I wonder how the reviews will turn out.

Thoughts?

Looks pretty cool, and I agree on the price points - very intriguing. Will have to keep an eye out to see how they fare in reviews. I haven't had any problems with my Garmin, but if the kvetching of others is any indication, many users wouldn't be opposed to jumping to another ship.

Their biggest problem in the past version has been the complete lack of customizability.

At $150 the Super GPS is a great deal, and the 22 hour battery life opens up a lot of possibilities about going long distance, which are only hurt by their lack of mapping capabilities. Yes, you can do turn by turn and breadcrumb trail maps, but no actual Maps.

Functionally these units look pretty similar to the latest offerings from Bryton, which are cheaper.

It their mount the common 1/4 turn mount our something different?
I can't tell from the photos.
I would be very reluctant to give up my K-Edge mounting brackets.

Is 12.7MPH a good heartrate? No seriously, I'm left wondering.

Two things:

1) The standard 1/4 turn mount belongs to Garmin, so it's not likely that it supports it unless they paid Garmin to license it. For example, the Wahoo ELEMNT mount is similar-but-different to the Garmin 1/4 Turn mount.

2) For the ELEMNT K-Edge sell a replacement insert for $5 that converts a Garmin K-EDGE to a Wahoo one. No reason that they couldn't do this for the Lezyne GPS mount too I suppose.

Maybe DC Rainmaker will do a review? Hopefully Lezyne sent him some units.

I know a bunch of people into fit bits, my wife included. That little mini GPS watch seems so superior.

I'm sure gps programming and software is no more complicated than a blinking light. ;-)

Just checked out Bryton as well. Spoke with a shop in town that carries them and raves about them. Very inexpensive when compared to comparable Garmins. Also very intriguing.

I agree. Nothing exciting or awesome to see here except the HRMPH monitor which is groundbreaking technology.

Well, Garmin is not a unit only, but Garmin connect also where all my rides are stored. Lezyne must have a very good website with all tracking and statistic options to compete.

Well...Connect is basically a pathetic half-broken attempt at a competitor to Strava that randomly decides to not even work. The only thing good about Connect is the phone app which does more than Strava does, otherwise....

I have a different experience with Connect. All I need is there. Strava is ok, but they do not use NP. They have their way to calculate some kind of average.

Anyway, my point was that the device itself without a good website is only a half of the story. I hope Lezyne understands it.

The nicest thing about Garmin Connect is that it automatically syncs to Strava.
