Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I limped back with the usual scapula to buttocks involvement in addition to a direct hit to my big toe which caused a twisting of my ankle.

I will put my cleats on the new shoes along with my shims for leg length discrepancy and give it a go on the old bike tomorrow.

The front part of the rigid sole of the involved shoe was broken off requiring replacement. Pedal involved also was broken.

I don't want to do that again and advise against it.

Thanks for the well wishes, it is kind of embarrassing at my age to have to tell people why I am limping around the office. Also it was unforced self inflicted error. You guys understand because of the addiction or should I say addition.

Hopefully I will be soft pedaling tomorrow.

And in fact, the measurement was the first thing I saw, followed by that fearless TD toss. Wow.

Poor DougRNS . It may be time to start taking it easier. Golf may be a more age-apporpriate activity.

Trying to avoid spoilers, just in case [highlight to read]: I didn't know Tannehill had an arm like that. Also, I'd love to see this hold - until today, the Ravens winning it all seemed inevitable.

I had heard he turned it on this year, but of course hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

No spoiler tag, since it only keys off yours. Yow. Gonna be a good playoffs.

Good news: daughter #2 got into Honors college at Pitt and they offered her roughly half off tuition!

Bad news: she says she still wants to go to NYU.

I told her NYU stands for Not Your University, she was not amused.

Very bad Dad joke. NYU undergrad is not a great school and NYC is severely overrated. Don’t know much about Pitt, but that deal sounds very good.

Put your foot down. Plus, she can follow in the footsteps of @indyfabz and DougRNS. Who wouldn't want to go there after hearing that?

Pitt is a very good school and the cost savings are substantial. Has she visited the campus?
