Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So...I am editing a draft of a lease and have come to the "force majeure" section. I am going to add "biological pandemic" to the non-exhaustive list of events.

It's actually a hot legal topic right now. For example, we are supposed to move to a building across the street by the end of April, when our lease expires. That may be impossible to do because of restrictions put in place due to the virus.

Texting or sleeping, no doubt, but this is what I am worried about even though the riding has been fantastic. That and all the suburban dads letting off steam in their 911 Turbos

Bout that time, I was rolling a 1970 Javelin, or a 66 GTO.

At work feels like being on call on Xmas day, minus the decorations. And lots of smiles...from a distance.

At about the rate that he did, assuming my tyre comes off the rim without a mighty struggle.

Me either. I did break the frame on my "English" 3 speed trying to jump off of a terrace.

Ditto.

I can wheelie and bunny-hop a little bit on my mountain bike. Clipless pedals make the latter much easier

I've been thinking about buying a bmx bike, but I don't know if that would be a good idea at my advanced age.

Plus, I don't want to hang out at the skatepark with high school kids. They'll probably make fun of me.

I found Oakley M-frames to be the best fit and the best at keeping wind/dirt out of my eyes. Had to stop using them because of declining vision. I have a pair of prescription Ray Bans for driving but haven't wanted to risk taking them on the bike. I found a site called Readers.com. Got some 1.75 sunglasses and they work on the bike but the frames break easily. They cost less than $20.

the pic in my avatar is me trying to read a map at night while wearing 3 pair of readers

Ones that make you look like a badass while providing some eye protection from wind and debris.

I have some Oakley Prism Road lenses in Radarlocks - they're really great for picking up road conditions in changing light, etc, etc, etc, but I often just pop on my casual sunglasses because they're good enough and make me look like less of a try-hard.

Important. Back when I had disability insurance, my eyes were excluded because of my history of uveitis. For that reason, I got very compulsive about wearing glasses on the bike.
