Vintage Serials
I have a vintage Mongoose road bike. made in 87 or 88, not sure which. The serial number is: M7C05513
I tried looking up more info on this bike but it is difficult to find consistent info on Mongoose serials. Can anyone help me decode it?

That's a common serial number format and almost certainly represents early 1987, assuming it is 1980s. Pictures of the bicycle would facilitate verification.

I went back and checked the database. There is a confirmed 1987 model with the same S/N format as yours. The format, in conjunction with the country of origin sticker, indicates that these frames were manufactured by Merida of Taiwan. Yours would be from March 1987.
