Smelly Brooks Saddle?

I have several Brooks, but this new B66 I just got has a weird odor, like wet sheep or something. Nothing about it suggests it's not new...it's like whatever process they use to prepare the leather didn't quite get all the smell out. Will it go away eventually?

Depending on how far and hard you ride, your sweat odor should overpower it.

I'm not sure if this is encouraging or not

A few years of ingrained sweaty taint, and you’ll be nostalgic for that wet sheep smell

It's leather. You have to sniff it.

You don't have to get near it. You can smell it if you're in the same room.

Unscrupulous leather producers often use urine to cure the leather.

“I wonder what a wet sheep smells like I know the smell of wet dog, wet sparrow, and wet chick, but not a wet sheep”

Having lived and worked on a sheep farm, I can say wet sheep smell isn’t altogether unpleasant.
Kinda like an old, wet shearling coat?

I love a Smell Brooks movie. "Blazing Saddles" has a new meaning.

calm down. My bike lives comfortably in her cocoon on the passenger seat. I'd never strap my best friend outside on a vehicle. What kinda sicko are you?

Ah, I see. You must be one of those “Zwift only” types. Take your bike outside- it’s fun!
