Sugino RT crankset - Drilled

Sugino "Drilled Out" RT Crankset in a 175 length with a 52/ 40 chainring.. Yes a Forty which are not too common. The BCD is 110

The Sugino RT Logo is still clearly visible and the dustcaps are included. The finish is in very good condition but there are some small wear marks on the crank that show its age and minimal use.

A Drilled out RT 175 with a 52/40 ? These dont show up very often.

$69 delivered to your door via USPS Flat rate box, as long as its in the U.S.A.

I accept PAYPAL.

Cool crank, but are the chainrings original to the crank? I thought they were supposed to follow the spiral, as shown here: VeloBase.com - Component: Sugino RT (double)

Yup. Somebody needs this outer chainring:

I wonder where a guy could find one?...

Are you hinting at something? 😁

I’ve never seen that spiral ring on anything besides a sugino RT, which was usually the standard crankset in sub-top tier touring models in the early 80s. Your univega gran turismo, miyata 610, trek 520 etc. The top tiers generally got a sugino AT (a.k.a. the greatest crankset ever made).

There was the Ofmega Mistral at the same time with the same pattern. Classic 80’s. The AT is early 80’s, but has a more timeless look to it. Not sure if I can verify that it’s the sexiest crank ever made, but it would be in my top five for sure. I have them on a few bikes with spares ready to go. I also have some Specialized “flag” cranks - made the same way (cold forged) with similar styling. But I digress.

Yes, heavy hinting about the 52t chainring being available.

Angular chainring attachment tabs always gave me the willies for some reason...never really liked them...sort of asynchronostic to me.

ofmega mistral was a beautiful piece though. I always wondered what an ofmega brakeset would have looked like...I think they only sourced Modolo if I recall correctly?
