Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Canyon or Canyon?

Hi, with the new canyon ultimate released for Q4 I'm unsure of which bike to buy, the 2016 model or the current year model Ultimate CF 8.0 as there is currently a discount of 279USD.

Is the new model worth the wait, will it cost around the same price of 2800USD or would it cost more?

With some research I saw that the main difference would be the frame, stem and handlebars with an added stiffness to the frame and a hidden seat post but i am still unsure of which bike to buy.

Can anyone give their opinion and thoughts on which bike you would buy?

Thanks in advance

-Willy

In my opinion it would boil down to two things: Do you have a bike to ride until it comes out and is money an issue?
If money is not an issue and you have a bike to ride until q4, than I would probably wait. If either of those is an issue than I would buy now. They bike is beautiful in both cases.

Hi, Money for me currently is not a problem and I have a scott cr1 to ride but I'm participating in a race in September and a new bike would be cool.

Currently the 2015 model with the ultegra costs 2800usd (original price) without shipping which will cost 500 for me, would the 2016 model with the ultegra cost around 2800 or would it bump up to 3000-3600 as canyon is getting it's brand known.

I reckon that if you are asking this question, you will not be satisfied with the 'old' version, so suggest you wait and get the 2016.

cheers

I'd go with the valley and skip both canyons.
