Conditions permitting I'll be back there (retirement) in a few years. Country/back-road riding and mountainbiking at their best, all in a geographically compact but diverse package. Admittedly, this (not the above) is and will be much more my 'thing' now (this clip is about 10 minutes from home):

That is one nice ride...spectacular scenery. But if you do that you miss the diesel exhaust and getting chased by dogs and...

I just got back a bit ago from my after work mtn biking area..... That looks like a much nicer place to ride.

You must enjoy it more than what you can't do or see.I bought my first mountain bike so I could still hunt.The walk into the woods was just to much.

I like mountain bike riding as a refreshing change from the road but my off-road skill level is not very advanced! I ride mostly Jeep trails and double-track; crash a lot whenever I try single track 
.
My bike has front suspension/hard-tail back end and dates from '98 so rather ancient by mountain bike standards. Still, all good fun and a completely different set of challenges as compard to road ridiing.

My mountain biking sounds about like Rick's. My mountain bike does not have any suspension, although I am refurbishing an old hardtail Trek with front suspension.
