Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is the fact that I don't cough at all when I lie down (only when upright) a telltale symptom of something? I'm reading about a few things were lying down may make a cough worse, but I don't see anything on the opposite.

If a cough lasts longer than 2 weeks see a Doctor. It could be a sign of a serious condition.

No.

To fine tune the alignment of the derailleur pulleys to the cogs you put the brain into adjust mode, and then tap a lever one way or the other to get it perfect. It kind of takes the place of cable tension adjustment. They you take it out of that mode. When you switch to 11 speed you need to reprogram the brain for each part. When you unplug something like a derailleur you lose all the memory. Explore the e-tube software. It's NOT plug and play! Download the appropriate software from Shimano into your computer and start reading it now. I posted a link. You need an interface device too.

Before that, and after the limit screws, you put it into crash recovery mode while spinning the cranks.

I will say, once I go to 11 speed, I'll never be able to go back to 10 speed, at least with that battery.

Hopefully you never need crash recovery mode for a crash!

Clean sweep of the leader board this week. Mark your calendars, as we may not see it again for quite a while.

Hi everyone. I seem to only show up here when I get a new bike. So, here it is.

Something a little different for me and I have really been enjoying it.

It's my first Italian steel bike, I've always longed for one. Put about 200 mi on it this week and it's... kind of worryingly like my much fancier, modern bikes.

Lovely and 7800 rules! What are the calipers, though?

The hawk was out last night. Literally. He eventually flew off, but about 15 min. later I went out back again to make sure some stuff on the deck was sheltered from the snow. Darn bird came out of nowhere and flew about 4' above my head. Scared the dickens out me.

Happy National Pound Cake Day and National Grammar Day!
