I know. You can’t paint the whole state with one brush. I grew up in Somerset county which was suburbia but a fine place to grow up. Approaching terminal development these days though. Mrs datlas family in Bergen county which is definitely too crowded but nice diversity. My parents in Hunterdon County which is still somewhat rural and similar to where we live now in feel.

Got in my sub-40 mile, no agenda ride. Felt crappy-strong. I know that I'm carrying a pretty heavy training load (for me), and that certainly matched my perception early in the ride. After I settling in, though, I get to the point where I can torque the pedals if and when I want to. Felt semi-lethargic heading out, feel awesome now. It was much the same way on my group ride a week and a half ago. It's odd. I'll probably take it very easy until next Wed.

Not quite, the cog threads are still good but without the lockring I'll need to be careful with how much back pressure I apply on the pedals.
So basically it's the same as just running a fixed cog on a freewheel hub, which is the exact situation that I was trying to get away from when I bought these hubs

Even the Volt, which is electric drive, people would complain about shifting. Or one guy said he felt the car would be better if it came in stickshift.

I did 45 miles with 4200 feet with club #2 . I had no legs but it was fun. Maybe yard work on Thursday took more out of me than I thought.

Forgot that your parents are there. I have led rides from Lambertville to Oldwick which dip into to Somerset (Black River) for just a few miles. One year during a ride in Hunterdon and Warren we saw a bear in Woodfern, which is a bit SW of Califon. If you know where to look there is still a decent amount of gravel in Hunterdon. Try The Hell of Hunterdon some time. I’ve heard it’s very hard. The county is also the birthplace of the real life figure who inspired the film “Jeremiah Johnson,” starring Robert Redford and Will Geer.

I had to true a wheel that wouldn't true because the spoke nipple just spun and spun. I got it out and tossed it, and then the (first)new one fell into the rim. It's still there. The second one threaded on just fine
