That's the one that connects to the crank arm? It's quite tight, as in a moderate effort to turn it failed.
Why? Other than a little looseness in one axle and the wear plates, the pedals still seem good.
If these are what goes with a Ultegra 6600-era pedal, they're only $10.00?

The cracks don't look too bad. Neither do the potholes. And apart from them it looks nice asphalt with a nice wide shoulder. It doesn't appear to be chip-seal with narrow or no shoulder, which is the default here. That would give you something to worry moan about.

I mean, I did stay up a little later than usual, refilling/inflating my tires, swapping out the chain, etc, etc after the swim yesterday, so it's mildly disappointing that I didn't get in a ride... but I got in a fair amount of work last week and I'm well ahead of pace for my 1k goal for the month, so whatever.
Physically, I'm actually feeling pretty decent. For a while, I felt like I was riding the edge - not overtly sore or fatigued, just... meh. I'm feeling damn near spunky at this point, so Wed will be a dilemma between getting in a good, long ride and joining the boys for a Wed Nighter and trying to tear their hearts out.

I am not really paying too much attention to the tubeless chatter, but I did not realize that a HOOKLESS rim (which are becoming more popular) must be used with tubeless and NOT tubed tires. At least that's what a GCN video told me.
Is that true? I wonder if availability of hooked rims will decrease and force us all to tubeless, similar to what happened with disc brakes becoming "standard" on new road bikes?

That said, my Zipps are one of those new models. Yeah, you can only run them with tubeless tires, though you don't have to run them tubeless - you can stuff a tube in to those tubeless tires if you really want to.
