What Cycling Events or Trips Do You Have Planned for 2020?
I enjoy weeklong supported rides so I usually plan around those. I also enjoy riding in new areas. Plans are being made for this year and here’s the current thinking.
April- Natchez Trace Ride end to end supported by my wife.
May-GAP/C&O from Pittsburgh to DC self supported but using lodging and Amtrak
June-Ride the Rockies out of Durango
July-4th grandchild due so nothing planned
August-Nothing scheduled but maybe an overnight trip riding in VA
September-Bike Maine plus visiting Nova Scotia
October-Cycle NC, route announced soon
What’s on your list?

I'm getting back in shape this year, but so far my plans include:
1. Day ride from DC to Mt. Vernon on the Mt. Vernon Trail. It's only 19 miles each way, but it's special since I'm traveling there on business from Florida. I'll ride my Bike Friday so I can fold it up and bring it on the plane with no problem.
2. American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure in Lake Nona at the end of March. I usually do the metric century, but I'm not sure which length I'll do this year. I'm helping with the event too, so I may be busy with that stuff.
3. Either the Crater Lake Century in Oregon in August or the Bourbon Country Burn in Kentucky in October. They are two different kinds of events, but I want to do one of them depending on my schedule.
4. Horrible Hundred in Clermont, FL in November.
I may try for another century in the earlier fall season. We'll see.

Wife and I have discussed the GAP/C&O from Pittsburgh to DC but I'm trying to talk her into the Buffalo to Albany Erie canal ride. She's less enthused about it since we've ridden good amounts of it having lived along 3 different stretches but we've probably only really done a quarter of it.
Also looking at a 4 day trip to Arcadia National Park; 3 nights camping, light riding the first and last day and 40-50 miles each of the other days following the carriage roads that run through there. Our middle kid loves Moose and we didn't see any last year so that's the bigger purpose but we'd like 150mi over the 4 days.

Being back home in a cycling friendly area, I’m going to up the miles for starters. Probably 95% of my rides are solo but just might get a group ride in here and there.

Really trying to do some initial planning on an Astoria (OR/WA border) to Crescent City, CA ride, along the 101. Stunning scenery. But it's over 400 miles and it has been a long time since I have done that many miles in just a handful of days. So, we'll see. Updates as they come, I guess.

Two cycling cruises back to back - Dubrovnik to Venice and then Venice to Bari, Italy. We stay on the same ship.
We are doing a two week cycling altitude camp in Park City, Utah and my wife is doing USAC masters road nationals in Utah, a qualifying time trial in Utah for masters road worlds and then masters road worlds in Vancouver, BC, if qualified. I am providing mechanical support and partner training.
And we race quite a bit in Orange and LA county as well as San Diego Fiesta Island Time Trails.
I am writing this from Park City, Utah where we began a ski week.

Welcome to Utah Hermes! There certainly is some beautiful new snow here for you. Be glad you are on the east side of the Wasatch range. Avalanche danger is really high on the west side right now. Yesterday an SUV was pushed off the road in Little Cottonwood Canyon by one. Have fun and be safe!

Just had our local Hamster this past Saturday was hoping for 200 but only made 177.
February is Bike Sebring 12/24 Hour wanting to match my 2017's ride of 307 or 1 better.
April is 1 day Cross Florida 167.
July is my Double Birthday Plus 1 so that'll be 141.
October is usually favorable for a 200 before end of year

Clean Air Ride in Inverness, FL in March. Rides of every distance up to century offered -- I'm doing the half-century. The entire ride is on the Withlacoochee Trail. I tried to do it last year but a bike wreck and subsequent broken ribs just weeks before the ride squashed that. After that ride, I'll see what's coming up and how I feel -- do I return to my 40-something days of riding centuries?

Right now, I'm giving a good deal of thought to the 42 mile section of a gravel century in the desert.. That is in mid May... Available distances are 42, 62 and 106 miles. It isn't the distance, so much as I've never covered that sort of distance in that sort of terrain. I have nearly convinced two friends to go though. That will help.

Eroica California in Cambria ...again! Always the favorite ride of the year with my buddy Rich. I miss the old Paso Robles Eroica as it was a lot more challenging, but the event is still awesome. Other than that , now with work demands slowing , cycling will be increasing!

Four-day tour in New Jersey and Delaware Easter weekend.
Two weeks in Montana/Idaho with a good amount of gravel starting mid-June.
One-week cross-Pennsylvania tour starting the weekend after Labor Day.
Hopefully several other long weekend trips from/to home interspersed throughout the year.

They're not "big" rides by any means, but twice every summer, I clear my head for a couple of days and ride from Long Island to spots that I enjoy in Connecticut and Rhode Island. These amount to fifty-mile rides each way, at the most, but the restorative power of them is immeasurable.

The only thing I have tentatively planned is to do at least one more week on my ride across a country with Cycle America.

April 25 Ocean to Bay Bike Tour Bethany Beach Delaware (depending on the weather will be my first century)
May 30 Bikes and Beer Hershey PA
July 26 Ben to the Shore (Philly to Atlantic City)
