I might be older than you...I might also be fitter and better looking
And by your post.....I'm probably more secure on my selves and have a better life
As for posing, yeah, its fun too, but I ride all my bikes dude.....With joy
The comments was to show that even an 'endurance' bike without ridiculous WW
components can today be sub 15...And that with a rather heavy frame....
And yeah...The speedplays might have a high contact surface, but I agree that distributing
that over a larger area makes more scene as you cab run poor shoes without getting hotspots
Not a problem with either my Times or my custom molded ones.
As for the frame weight Caddy, I dunno, as I never did weight it,
but calculating it hits sub 1300
.....And before any newbs start making a story 'bout the boat anchor cleats...

yeah, yeah, I'm very insecure- so insecure I had to hire a private security firm to come over so they could make me feel more secure.
Curious- how many selves do you have?

14.75 with pedals, cages and a Garmin 705.
2009 Specialized Roubaix S-Works frame and fork
Campagnolo Super Record 11 group
Fulcrum Zero wheelset with Hutchinson tubeless clinchers
Thompson X2 stem
3ttt Ergo carbon bar
Keo carbon pedals.....
The bike now sports a D/A 7900 build and I have not re weighed it yet but I assume it has gained a little weight.

I could of course take out the 14g insoles, but you know..It's about comfort and energy distribution..not weight
Who ever visited you in your dreams wasn't me...I'm just me....
Cool.......Enlighten us with a pic

The bikes here make me insanely jealous.
I'm 5'7", weigh 155, and ride a 21lb road bike. (Trek 1.2)
Since I live in the middle of flatland I doubt a 15lb bike would do me much good anyway.

These days getting a sub 15 Lb bike is not that difficult or even expensive as it used to be. It takes a bit of ingenuity, research, and willingness to try some parts not made or sold for the masses.
My heaviest bike is the LOOK 595 Ultra at 14.1 Lb with the Campagnolo Hyperon tubulars and 14.7 Lb with the Psimet PowerTap tubulars.
My lightest one is the TIME RXR with the LightWeight GEN III tubulars at 14.0 Lb.
All weights are with regular bar tape, 2 bottle cahes, and the Garmin 705 on. Add to the LOOK the 2 light craddles (heavy suckers) on the bars too. Don't have any recent pictures, but I may take some later today.

Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures on the LOOK. Not much light outside trying to take a picture of a very black object and this is what you get.

**BTW, you can see in this last picture the derailleur is bent due to a crash. Getting replaced, just have been too unmotivated and lazy as of late to do it.

this is my jam.
i'm sad to say it's heavier than it needs to be, partly because it's an aero frame. but mostly because of the wheels.
a set of Mad Fibers would take something like 2 pounds off the bike, but for that money i could build up my BMC frame :/

OK- and of course, insoles are in the shoes. These are 41 1/3 (us size 8).
Here's my other pair- zxelliums w/ the cleats on-- 655g w/ cleats. Not a bad pickup for $125
Finally- just for fun- here's an "extra" xx-light sp31 seatpost I picked up from someone in Denmark. This one is 2g heavier than the one on my bike. I didn't know how long an 89g seatpost would last, but the one on the bike is over 2 and a half years old (well over 15,000 miles) EDIT- I guess the guy in the shop in Germany who sold me the first one wasn't lying when he said he had people using it for CC mtn biking.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
I saw a mechanic at my neighborhood LBS about to hang a Bianchi in the window saying, "This is a twelve-pound bike!"
I think it was an Infinito -- Ultegra 6700, Fulcrum 7 wheels. Does this look like a 12-lb bike to you?

Nah.

I remember my Rockets started around sub 200 for the lightest, but climbed as soon as you added some extra strength and stiffness...Not surprisingly.
As for the seatpost...I had a sub 100g seatpost, and nothing wrong with that, but that was with a slacker than usual seattube. As soon as you need setback (or prefer), sub 100 is not realistic..

The shoes are great. I used bont a1's almost the entire year, I tried so hard to make them work for my feet, but they didn't. I ended up trying 6 or 7 different pairs of shoes and the huez shoes worked the best for me-- if they hadn't I would not have kept them after my "bont" experience-- I was so impressed w/ them when I found a pair of the zxelliums for 125 I had to pick them up and I've been equally as impressed with them.

My aluminum Specialized E5 might be making an appearance here soon. Btw, dropped 200 - 300 grams for under $100 with a $35 sub 100 gram saddle and some $45 46 gram KCNC skewers.

That post isn't sold in the US. I got mine from bikeavenue.de. I've used them 3 or 4 times over the past 3 years for some high end stuff I either can't get in the US or it was cheaper to get from europe. That post is a small fortune- the first one was a present- the 2nd one was slightly used so I got it for a lot less.

it's a "Merek" carbon saddle from ebay. https://cgi.ebay.com/New-MEREK-MEGA-D...item35af3a911d
it was $100, weighs 100g, and oddly enough it's the most comfortable saddle ever.
