Nice portrait. Looks pretty nippy out there!

Went out riding yesterday with the Hercules Cycling Club doing the Grove, Trinity and Sonoma Mountain climbs. This was my first time out that way and it sort of reminds of Diablo's wall, only much, much, much, much longer.

Was it enjoyable, oh yes it was.

Rule #25

My buddy grinding up Grove.

The finished, tired, cold and we're going home photo.

If your interested a few more can be found on my blog.

Since it is cold out today, Claudiavatar was in a warm hat, a post Christmas, and non Santa version.
When she heard this news it made her very happy to hear about your summit.

You're in my video but I picked a copyrighted song and it got rejected and I had to re-do which takes forever. No money shot, just a glimpse of pink bike from the seatstay cam. My buddy was sick today so I rode alone.

Glad you're back, DS. It's been too long. And too long since I've taken the Diva up these slopes. It's time. Nice picture.

That photo makes this eyeball-jiggling section of wash board hell look a loot more fun than it actually was.

Hey, it's the one stretch of road where I was able to stay ahead of any of you. Paris-Roubaix, here I come. (And if you believe that . . . .)

Mason Road off of Green Valley Road on my way to GV Cellars Winery, link to GV: Home
My main bike is in the shop for a 10,000 miles (2 year) maintenance visit.
So I am on my able and willing steel back up, an '81 Univega Gran Turismo, retro to modern conversion.
It has a Sora triple, 700c wheels and Tektro long reach brakes.
"Hey Steve, that looks steep over there, let's go!" https://app.strava.com/activities/239407494

Siebes Rd. turned out to have a 22.6% pitch at mile .20 and an average grade of 12%
(lots of 18% and a false summit = 12% avg.) We made it!

The Animal Themed Climbs of western Contra Costa:
Pig Farm Hill, Mama, Papa & Baby Bear, and Wildcat Canyon
Here is me on the first, gentle incline of Pig Farm before it ramps up more.

Then over a bunch of nasty business at over 15%, 'cause nobody said I was smart.
