Does this work as a double crankset?
Wondering if the crankset that came on my nature boy can be used as a donor crankset for a 9 speed bike I'm building. It has a space for chainrings on both sides of the spider but I'm not sure. Thanks for any info on the subject.

Looks like it should work to me.
What does your spares box look like? I generally just bolt up whatever I've got handy and see if I can get it to work. Most times I've been successful.

Yup, it is a double chainring crankarm, they just put the inner ring in place of the outer one..

Awesome. Thanks a lot. I really like these cranks. 175 is a little long for me on a single speed but having gears to control my cadence will be nice.

Just about any crank can be used as a double crank, regardless of whether the spider has the inner plateau. The issue is inner chainring clearance with the frame, which is a function on the bottom bracket spindle, not the crank. E.g. look at TA Pro-5 and other 5-pin cranks, where the inner ring(s) do not rest on a plateau of any kind.
