Now as far as what he said about Contador in relation to the 'without test' part of the above quote - apparently Greg did some calculations based on the speed of the climb and Contador's weight (I think) and came up with a VO2 max that is not realistically possible in a non-doping athlete. I believe that to be the case anyway. If that's true I find it a little interesting - not enough to take away the jersey of course but still interesting.

I like Greg Lemond. he adds color to the sport. he says the craziest things and every once in a while they even turn out to be true. Yeah, I mean what a putz, finishing 90 seconds off the fastest 26 year old Grand Tour rider in the world <60 days away from his 38th birthday after three weeks of the Tour de France.
