Post off the bike work I took a 1.5 hour ride with some hard 20" efforts just to get the mojo back. It was mildly surprised as I hit a peak watt @ 1,220 and 20" @ 778. I found a Versa Climber on Craigslist that I will get the week of Oct 23. Let the fun begin!!!
Smack! Nice workout AJ.

I found a walker on Craigslist.

Sigh. Man, I killed my last sprint workout a couple of days before the fall. 40 MPH @ 160 RPM.

Looked at the file finally.

Re: the bolded part, when you have Medicare, they give it to you before you leave the hospital. Something to look forward to...um, maybe not. I could've sent you mine!

Yesterday, 10 miles solo on the mtb, Sawtooth Trail which I rode for the first time around 6 weeks ago. So. Much. Better.

I was jammin on the rocky bits:

And grooving on the lovely flowy parts:

It was awesome.

Then an @sarals-viewing party at Casa Ex. Also awesome.

Today was Road Trip Intervals:

A couple of TT workouts this week & then racing Sunday.

Doc was quite pleased today with the progress on the heel. Removed the stitches, cleaned and dressed the incisions, and go get fitted for a boot tomorrow. 4 more weeks completely off it, with some occasional movement of the ankle.

Finally got to see the X-ray of his work. Impressive.

I have two bad toes, one on each foot, that are stable with the use of orthotics but may need surgery at some point in time. Hang on to the boots, I may need them.

I see a trench. Were you riding in or jumping that?

Last nights group ride was an out and back and got crazy doing a 6 minute hill about 2 miles from the turn around. I did the climb with the young guns but could not recover enough to stay in the fold to the turn around. Did manage a two year best PP for four minutes, so I'll take that as good news.

Broke out the winter fixie today and did 1:15 riding on a sunny, windy and warm October day in a 66" gear.

The plan was not to fall into it. I was riding on a large water authority property near Williamsport PA with two brother in laws. Pictured are remnants from a late 1700's mill. The land was protected for years but now riding, running and hiking are allowed. Most of the roads we did were old train track beds from the lumbering days.

I just got fitted for mine today, but thanks for the offer. From my Facebook post:

It is both 3 and 4 bolt cleat compatible, works with downhill , cross-country and randonee bindings, and matches the color scheme of my half-track.

Olive drab. All the rage this Fall. Air Jordan pumps on both sides. I got the undercoating and Scotch Guard.

Last night was tough. Glad to be rid of the temporary splint from yesterday. My one legged walker shows up tomorrow. Few more days and the bandages come off the incisions and I can finally take a shower. Got an application for a temporary handicap parking placard too.

Really do appreciate all the calls and emails. Bandera and Revchuck shot over some nice reading material, and Heathpack and her soigner showed up at the house with food and wine. Can't thank folks enough.

I went on a ride around Fiesta Island (not Zwift). Fiesta Island is a real place and I know most of you remember this but since this is a masters forum I thought it a good idea to remind everyone.

I had just started and a rider goes by and he looked familiar. I pass him and he pulls up next to me and says hi, I thought it was you.

This was a guy I met in 1979 when we moved to SD. He was 25 and I was 29 at the time. We rode bikes together and trained together at the gym and ran along the beach.

He became a fire fighter and moved to Santa Rosa and retired a couple of years ago. He moved back to SD in north county. He rides Fiesta and many of the same routes as I do.

We cruised a few laps of Fiesta together and it was like we were set back in time 40 years as if nothing had changed.

I'm on work release for the next two weeks. Nothing on the TRS, except JRA and savor the moments. I called Coach to day to check on him. He's sounding good! I also wrote a 2017 Season Summary. You guys have had enough of my novelettes, I won't post it here

Leg and core day followed with 1.25 hrs of easy riding today. Tomorrow is a 42 mile fixie group ride on gravel roads, rail trail and unimproved abandoned railroad. The 11 miles of chunky railroad ballast has me concerned. I put 38mm Challenge gravel tires on my Redline SS/fixie bike with 67" gearing hoping there is enough oomph on the hard stuff and then still allow some speed on the smooth stuff at 100 cadence.
