Possible saddle issues
So, I am just getting back into riding. Before the service I ride about 20 miles a day just cruising around. In the service I ride to work. Either way.
I had to get a new seat, so I sat on the thing and bought a seat sizews by that. The sit bones fit great on the saddle with zero pressure noticable pressure on soft tissues. The problem is I have always had a lingering soreness in the muscles beneath my sit bones. Nothing on the surface. Never had any chaffing issues aside from maybe once a year at the first good sweat in the spring. Never had anything resembling a bed side, ingrown hairs anything. Just the lingering muscle soreness at my sit bones.
is this something typically from fit/saddle height, or just get some padded shorts? I do have a couple pair of Andiamo padded boxers coming. Am I on the right track, or am I missing something?

What happens when you sit on a saddle is that the tissues over your bones become oxygen deprived, which makes them hurt. Fortunately we humans are very adaptable. Over the period of about a month, they'll get used to that and mostly stop hurting. A really soft saddle makes it worse because when you sink in, more tissues become compressed. Which doesn't mean a hard saddle, either, you just shouldn't feel like you are sinking in. Usually about 1/2 hour every day for a couple weeks makes the process go faster. Padded shorts might help.

If you watch a few videos of pro tour races you will notice that they stand to pedal 10 or 15 seconds at a time to maintain some blood flow. This from people who ride 15,000 or more per year. You will find butt bliss with padded shorts and an increase in miles on the bike.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I know I am starting very light. Only 7 miles split in half before and after work, twice a week. Going to do that a couple weeks and then cup to 3 times a week. Will probably top out at 3 or 4 days a week before I start extending out. From home to work is 11.5 miles each way. Just need to find a couple more different places to park between where I am right now (co-workers house on the same shift) and home.
I also have a couple pair of padded boxers heading my way as well. I have never had much built in padding on my sit bones. So I am going to take it easy this time. Last time I started commuting to work I went from nothing to almost 10 miles each way.
