Vintage Cannondale, what is it worth?

Hello everyone, I have this vintage cannondale bike that was passed down to me from my step father but I dont know much about it. I enjoy riding but im not to familiar with bike gear, so I've come to this forum for some knowledgeable insight. Quick back story, I brought the it to a bike shop one day to get a new seat for it and the workers at the shop totally geeked out. "woah thats a old school cannondale" "wow this thing is Campagnoloed out". I know cannondale is a very reputable brand and after doing some research so is Campagnolo. Thats when I realised maybe this bike is more special than i thought. Can anyone tell me more info on this bike/ model. click the link to view photos of it. thanks!

edit: because i am new to the forum i cant upload photos or post a link, anyone know how else i can share these photos?

You can literally just say Hi! and post that 10 times, to get past that post limit. Or go say Hi in the introductions subforum. 10 times, lol. 😁
Looking forward to pics. 😎

Don't do this. They will be deleted. Junk posts posted just to get to 10 aren't allowed.

Close. Better to say hi to other new forum members. Also, tell us a bit about yourself.

Looking forward to pics. 😎
Me too.

As I recall, there were a couple of higher end models that came with Campagnolo from the factory --- Either the R1000 or 2000 models from the early 90's or late 80's. One year one of the bikes even came with Mavic and the starfish group

But if it was a frameset that was upgraded piecemeal with Campagnolo parts, there are a lot of variables

Cannondale is famous for using the same frameset for the whole line and just varying the build kits . Exception being the years the 3.0 frameset and the 2.8 frameset were offered at the same time along with the Criterium version of the 3.0

There is so many rules to this forum, I had to wait 24 hours to respond. Anyways I don’t believe it is a R1000 or R2000. The frame looks more like a R400 that is decked out with all Campagnolo accessories

Nice! I'm not a Cannondale expert, but I love those Campy Deltas!

If you want to maximize value, you will want to part out the bike (i.e., sell the components separately from the frame). The value is in the parts.

Vintage cannondales are easy to ID using the catalogs on the vintage cannondale website:

mid to late 80's or very early 90's Cannondale SR frame with what looks like a Campy Record parts kit with Delta brakes ---

as @bikemig said, its worth more in this case to strip that frame and sell the parts

Since it looks like a complete Campy build, someone may have bought this one as a bare frameset and built it up like that

Frame is late 86 or very early 87. Components look to me like 88. Could have been a leftover frame sale, as Cannondale made extra frames for warranty purposes and would sell them off separately.

Nothing special about the frame, especially in its current condition. Value maybe $100, could be a rouch higher depnding on your market. If you want to keep it, strip it down to the frame and find a good powder coater. Decals are available on the VC site.

Deltas have the most value here, followed by the brake levers and hoods if they are cleaned & in excellent condition. Last pair of Deltas I sold went for about $300, last pair of levers like that for about $80. The rest, cleaned up, (RD, FD, Crankset) maybe $125.

If it fits and you want to keep it, would not be hard to turn it into something stunning for a couple hundred bucks.

Thanks for all the information guys! So I have a offer for the bike for $500. At that amount is it still worth parting it out or should I sell it as a whole
