Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm stoked that Brandon is doing well.

It wasn't too long ago, that he started grabbing all my KOMs(and I was all "WTF?"). Now he's 4th in the Giro d'Italia

Don't know. The only time I was there was for a funeral. Didn't think to ask the grieving family about the cycling scene.

In other news, a PSA for you.

Outside my front window about 4 years ago.

Velo Vol protip: If you're a coach who gets hired by a university that has a starting QB who can't play, you really need to find a different one by your third season.

The dumbness, it hurts.

Maybe if you mowed and your lawn wasn't covered with overgrowth it wouldn't attract snakes and other creatures.

He's hiding in a juniper bush. The lawn is well manicured. Naturally.

Going through the pics from the Duluth, MN trip. This'ne was from yesterday, when they weather was still enjoyable. I love going to these parks but, man, they're crawling with people these days. It wasn't easy to get a clean pic without some selfie-taker sprawled out on the rocks, oblivious to the fact that others might not want them in their pic.

Same falls, different perspective (decided to get closer while waiting for selfie-takers to indulge themselves - hopefully I'm in one of their pics ) -

I briefly had a chainsaw of about that vintage
And if you get that close with a chainsaw, it really doesn't matter if you have shoes on or not.
I knew a Filipino carver who never wore shoes for chainsawing.

If you've never been there, it's something to see. Quite a bit of it, worse in Pigeon Forge, isn't my cup of tea, but your mileage may vary.
