Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just tried my first “workout” in Zwift. It was a group ride and a custom workout supposed to improve leg strength. It had us going near then above FTP at low cadence. I did not like it and the ERG mode on the trainer is merciless!

Well, landed an internship today. Plans/intentions laid for the past several years had to change with recent events and thus no international traveling, which bums me out. On the other hand, I don't have to quit my "essential services" job to fulfill said internship, so I still get a paycheck. If all goes well, graduation is imminent in August.

Strange times. . A shame the plans changed, but good deal on the lemonade you made of them.

That sounds like an excellent outcome under the circumstances. Congrats!

After being a long-time erg-mode adherent, I've come around to preferring slope. Rouvy lets me make workouts in slope; I may try that but for now there are enough virtual routes.

At the CC they started handing out masks at the door today. Also a messenger/escort tested positive and they just shut that function down pending contract tracing. Yesterday, the CEO got pissed off because he was told that employees were asking that their CoV-2 tests be scheduled at the beginning or end of the working day to coincide with their commutes.

Did 20 miles outside this afternoon on the new bike. I am unsure but I may have been hearing intermittent b.b. creak. This was one of my fears with this bb/frame , bb30 dub garbage . I'll glue that bastard in with lock tight if it doesn't knock it off.
