FS: Parts from 1986 Schwinn Cimarron - Shimano Deerhead and Suntour XC

I have reluctantly decided that I must liquidate the parts from my 1986 Cimarron. I recently acquired it and built it into a commuter, exchanging nearly all the parts for others in the process.

I wanted to post here in advance of the eBay auctions I'm planning.

Here's a list:

And here are some photos:

One note: The Superbe seatpost is the relatively rare 26.6 mm size.

All this stuff is in very good condition for its age. I'm open to fair offers for the lot or any individual pieces. Also open to feedback regarding photos (did I miss anything?).

Thanks,
OIiver H.

Do you have pictures of the seatpost? Couldn't find them in the album you shared.

Thanks for catching that! I do have it, and it's also in great condition. I'll post pictures in the next two days, probably later tonight.

Hi, Billy,

I finally got around to adding photos of the seatpost. Here is a direct link to the folder:

https://oliverhenderson-my.sharepoin...L3YDw?e=d0k5jm

It's a road post. I measure 5.5" from the center of the bottom clamp to the limit line. There are some squiggles on the post, but mostly below the limit line. I tried to capture the scratches that are above. If you zoom in on the shot of the limit line, you can see "26.6." Also, I tried to capture a photo of the "Suntour Superbe" lettering, but it is very faint.

Overall, I'd rate this as good to very good condition. The scratches above the limit line would easily polish out, but there is a very fine machined texture that would go in the process. It's not a high polish. I'd definitely keep the post if it were longer. I love the dual screw clamp design.

I'm asking $50, not including shipping for this. That's based on the average sale price of three recently completed eBay auctions. Feel free to ask for more photos!

Best wishes,
Oliver

Thanks. I don't have photos of everything, but a lot of the bikes I've worked on over the last 5-6 years are in here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjYPYtTm

Re: the seatpost, I don't have a use for the 26.6 but it does seem worthwhile to specify that in your main post for this thread. It's clean! Someone may need it.

Seatpost size added to main post, thanks. That Flickr gallery is some quality bike porn!

Cheers,

Parts on eBay May 29

Folks,

I'm planning to create eBay auctions for all of this stuff, and they'll go live around 5p EDT tomorrow. Wanted to give notice in case anyone else cares to make an offer before then.

Cheers,
Oliver H.
