I used to say the same thing about running clothes, until I realized that the cheap stuff wears out 3x faster than the quality stuff. I don't mind paying extra as long as its quality

High priced items are not price gouging. Price gouging is raising the price of an item when demand is high or supply is short. I appreciate your opinion that Rapha products are overpriced, and I tend to agree, but that has nothing to do with price gouging. They market their items as premium products and charge premium prices. Having never owned any, I can't comment personally but based on reviews they do seem to be very high quality with great attention to design and detail. That adds value and whether that additional value is proportional to the additional price is for the consumer to decide. A luxury item which has maintained the same, albeit high price point is not in any way an example of price gouging.

Price gouging only applies to essential items such as food, sanitation supplies, medicines, cleaning supplies and personal protective items such as respirators...Rapha bibs or campy group set or chris king headset are non-essential items.
