Dating a Brooks Saddle.

I have an old B17 special saddle that came with a used bike.

How can I tell what year it was made?
The code on the bottom of the saddle reads 0 C 8.

Just curious.

After reading the title of this thread, it turns out it isn't nearly as bad as I had feared. I'm glad that I don't have to explain that you're supposed to date people, not saddles...

I agree because there's no point in dating a Brooks saddle unless you're ready to commit for life. When you meet the right Brooks, you're married.

Although I don't spend any time in C & V (Classic & Vintage) Subforum. Brooks saddles ARE very much the crowning touch to a painstaking restoration project.
Many classic bike riders go to the trouble of researching, locating, and installing, period correct parts on their project bikes.
It might be profitable to repost your question there? If nothing else C&V are probably Very familiar with old Brooks saddles.

I don't know if it's possible. I have a B-17 that's at least 20 years old and one I bought about 18 months ago, and I can't find any differences at all. Brooks may know things I don't, though.

Brooks Saddles eschew the traditional flowers and candy. I recommend proofride for the first date.

Brooks saddles don't really prefer gifts, per se, as their love language is "quality time together". Just ride...

I'm currently dating a Brooks. Not only does she look nice (nice ass), but I like to "ride" her.
