Trail touring in France - need information

Hi, anyone ever toured on one of the Grande Randonnées or other long distance trails? Know of someone who did? Know of an organization or tour company you can refer us to?

We did one of the Grande Randonnées in the Lot Valley and really enjoyed it. Even though it's legal to bike on most of them, they're not always bikable. But since this is not a very popular activity, it's proving impossible to find information on which of them (or other long distance hiking trails) are bikable. I've searched everywhere! Thanks for any help!

We've ridden routes like these ...

The Velodyssey Route along the Atlantic Ocean from England to Spain: Velodyssey, the Atlantic cycling route ? The Velodyssey

The Marne River cycling route

The Mosel River cycling route

Sorry I don't have links for those ... we just got to the rivers and started cycling the towpaths.

You might try this as well: https://www.eurovelo.com/en

But as for cycling hiking trails ... no, we've never tried it.

I rode the tow-path of the Canal du Midi which links the Atlantic to the Med. A great off-road route and popular cycle path.
I also did the Chemin de Stephenson; or tried to. A lot of it was un-rideable and very hard work. It is GR70 and is from the book, "Journey with a donkey in the Cevennes."

Try this site: VTTFrance.com : Le Guide des Randonnées VTT en France (VTT = Vélo Tout Terrain = mountain bike)

While the above website isn't specifically for GR routes, it does include some GR as well as other long distance trails for mountain biking.

I don't know if it is going to help you...
- Agence LaRébenne: voyages randonnée, vtt, vtc, vélo de route (also with an English version, click on the United Kingdom map)
- Vélorizons, voyages à VTT, VTC ou à vélo de route
Last summer I did a road bike trip in the French Alps with LaRebenne. It was great !
Both companies offer mountain bike trips.
