Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I haven't had a real ride since 2/2, thank God for feedback trainers and modern programs or I'd be crankier than I usually am. We get a warm up starting on Sunday but we have another 3" forecast so that will delay things till at least Tuesday.

BTW, it was 68°F here on this day in 2017.

Got home and realized that I had lost my metal tire irons through a hole in the bag.

I last worked inside a building in the early 70s when I worked at factories. Sometimes it sucks working outside, like when it's 110 degrees, but being stuck inside sucks, too.

Being a highway construction engineer, I worked outside for 30 some years until I got promoted to management which lasted 6 years before I retired early, mainly because they promoted me to a desk.

The regular office folk plus the executives get windows. No love for the shop personnel.

I remember hearing our company president telling someone that during the build-out for our new building they intentionally "laid out the office floor plan so that everyone has a clear view to a window".

Maybe he qualified earlier who counts as "everyone".

When we moved to a new facility a couple years ago, we found one windows all the way around. I ended up with the corner office, which isn't as great as it sounds, because it faces South and West and the A/C has NEVER been up to the task.

She should have stuck it out long enough to cash in on Phase 2.

New tent arrived quicker than expecting. So I took it out for a short overnight hike to test it out.

Actually happened a few days ago and if she weren’t shoveling, she’d be riding the trainer or doing weights or some godawful floor exercise.
