Replacing chain on SRAM Force 11 - PC-1130 or PC-1170 or something else?
I'm due to replace the chain on my 11 speed force setup for the first time. I used a PC-1170 and it lasted about nine months - 4000 miles? On my 10 speed setups I've used KMC chains but it seems that sram chains are much cheaper this time around. I'm looking for good shifting, longevity, and low price. in that order.
what chain would you choose?

my last chain purchase was a Whipperman 1/8" wide because I use IGH hubs.
they last a long time.
11 speed bushingless chains you just replace them as they wear .. which is faster than a wider chain made of thicker steel..
The partial Bushings are formed in punching the Holes , and the side plates to get in that dense stack of cogs Is thinner.
buy several chains at the same time and dont get attached to any one of them ..
you bought into the 11 speed thing . You live with the resulting costs of that now.

This did wear faster than i expected. I checked wear since i was cleaning the drive train and expected to have a fair amount more life left. but at the prices i'm seeing for 11 speed chains, its not that bad to replace the chain more frequently.

If you used a chain checker instead of measuring with a rule you may have mistakenly figured your chain was worn out. According to numerous posting on this forum a brand new chain will often read 1/2% on a checker.

I've ordered a PC-RED22. reviews were very good, claiming a quieter drivetrain and slightly better shifting. for $33 (amazon) its worth a try.
