Going up Encinal Canyon Road, on my way to a 50 miles, 3,600 feet of climbing day. Fun times.
BTW, the Painted Lady butterflies were back and swarming. It was good to have them as part of my own personal peloton. Magic!

I shoot this scene often. I took this today, in front of our house in New York's Hudson River Valley.

This picture was taken back in February 2019 when a friend and I rode 100 miles through the Miztpe Ramon crater in Israel to Eilat in the south.
View of Ramon Crater before we started our descent. About a minute later a spooked ibex (think goat on steroids with horns to match) darted from the shoulder in front of me (going 30mph at this point with brakes). Man, that thing had some acceleration! I missed it by about a foot!

this could be the laguna mtns in san diego county, the san bernarndino mtns close to la but guessing it's in northern california closer to tahoe or lasssen national park with all the sugar pines. the rumble strip looks newish. the secondary side plants look socal but too tall and without dense supporting plants to have survived the fires from the last decade plus. the roadside trimming doesn't. the newish pavement is a total mindf***, wherever it is. pretty and a great capture/mood piece. if i'm playing geoguesser.com, guessing ca hwy 28 east side lake tahoe.

From a recent cycle ride through Killarney National Park in Co. Kerry, Ireland.
And the amazing descent down through the Gap of Dunloe, .....admittedly not a completely empty road, but as good as.
