Waxing a Ti Bike
I'm getting in a new Litespeed. First Ti bike I've had. On my other painted bikes I always put on a coat of wax before first ride to make washing in the future easier. Do I need to do this with unpainted titanium? Is there any benefit?

It will make it shinier. Fingerprints and other stuff will wipe off easier. It's not necessary. It won't do any harm. Congratulations on the new bike!

As he said, it will make it shinier. I don't do anything to mine. Once in a while it gets cleaned, but not that often. Usually I just attend to the drive train cleaning and maintenance. The nice thing about the titanium is if you get a scratch on it, just go over the scratch with fine emery cloth ( I forgot what grit) and it will dissapear. Much better than a scratch on a painted frame. Congrats on your new TI ride !

The little cans of hand wipes are hard to find right now but I've found the wipes work well for a quick clean. Wipes off Gatorade, sweat and road mess. Does not leave residue and the bike doesn't have to be dried. I wouldn't bother with wax.

Pledge Lemon wipes are a bit of both worlds.. can clean a bit and add some shine. Generally doesn't require any thought.

I use automotive spray wax on the bare ti, paint, anodized surfaces and the crankset on my 2 titanium bikes.

I use furniture polish on my aluminum bike, but is the stuff okay to use on steel or Ti?
