All of the Italian road bikes that the local bike shop sold in the 1960s came with fenders; the shop routinely threw the fenders out, unfortunately. Here's someone's picture of a Legnano whose fenders survived:

In all honesty, my thought when clickingthis thread was "Why would you want them colour matched to the frame - tyres are mostly black and so should the fenders be".
But truth be told, it looks great on several on the bikes above.

A Condorino restoration on a Legnano similar to the one posted by Trakhak. What a sweet bike! Seatpost binder under the top tube?! Not my favorite color, but still really nice.

Keep ‘em coming folks! I really like that deep candy green modern one! There’s someone on here with the matchy going on with a red bike which I’m hoping for a few pics of to show up in here.

scary and good reason to avoid those bikes made with those wheel-retention tab things. It did look cool, though. Glad you’re still riding after that!

Indeed, the fork end on the other side had the same crack, but had not broken through yet, and it looks like the rectangular holes were the stress risers from which the cracks started. The successor to this frame has the same holes, but I'm keeping a close eye on it. I think this thing would have given me plenty of early warning had I been watching. Another Schwinn from the same era has the Brilando clips, which are a cool relic, and are preserved on the new wheels.

As a side note, fortunately the tab broke while I was nearly stationary. I was getting ready to head home from the store, heard a "clunk," and after wondering how my wheel could have come loose, noticed the broken fork. I had just liberated a frame from another project, so during the walk home I thought about my plan, and it took me no more than about 1/2 hour to transfer all of the parts from one Schwinn frame to another. The new frame is also a better size for me, and in much better cosmetic condition.

I believe that that was the team color for Legnano, equivalent to celeste for Bianchi. That seat binder bolt arrangement appeared for a year or two on Frejus frames, too. I assumed back then that the similarity meant that the Legnano and Frejus frames had begun to come out of the same factory under the same ownership; maybe someone here can confirm that or else provide the correct explanation.
