What did you do for your Hybrid today

Well, I have had a helluva time with my Scott Metrix 10. Took months to replace the frame, and to my surprise, they replaced my gorgeous pewter/sand colored frame with this monstrosity blue and neon yellow. Had to take the color matching saddle and handle bar grips off. I had a Fizik Antares R3 in the drawer so I threw that on in favor of the red-accented Fabric I had on before. I had some red grips on as well which didn't match so I put the stock grips on while I wait for my lizard skins to arrive. I am super bummed at the color change and quite honestly, part of me doesn't love the bike anymore and wants to sell it. The other part of me actually does like it and its growing on me lol. I am conflicted!

The paint started cracking on mine and I was concerned that the frame was having issues. Apparent;y the 2019 color that we both have (had) had an issue with the base layer being applied incorrectly, and having the paint flake but not affecting the integrity of the frame. I guess I am glad I went through the process but in hindsight I almost wish I hadn't done it. I bought this bike specifically for the color so now I am not super excited about the bike. That being said, it isn't my primary bike (my Cervelo R3 is) and the color is growing on me. I might finally throw some carbon wheels on it.

I inspected my own frame and can't say that I noticed any flaking to speak of. That being said, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any anomalies that might show up over the course of the year. Thanks for the heads up.

I wish the yellow would come off, but its painted onto the frame and fork. Yea keep an eye out for the spider webbing of the paint. Again, its not structural but it is crappy looking.
New grips are on, waiting on new wheels coming.

Threw my Fizik Antares Adaptive saddle on, and my new wheels came in. This bike looks so damn fast now.

I like that blue, especially with the new wheels and tires.

Sirrus
I've been riding my Rad City e bike to and from work for the past few months. Eleven mile commute one way. Getting in shape after 30 years away for cycling.
Bought a 2016 Specialized Sirrus yesterday. It had been used fairly hard and had Panaracer Gravel Tires on it. Rolled like **** and was slow, but, it has potential.
Went to my LBS, Wheelhouse Bicycles in Creve Coeur, MO. Nathan the owner is an awesome guy. Anyway, he just happened to have a pair of Zipp 404 carbon rims with good tires on them. Mounted rims, tightened bottom bracket and all fittings. Thing rolls like a true road bike now. Spent more on the wheels than on the whole bike! Oh Well! I'll let ya know how it all works out!

Ordered some new tires and tubes for the Quick 1 - replacing the Schwalbe Spicer 700c-30s with Schwalbe Marathon GT Tour 700c-35s.

New Shoes!
Today my 2016 Sirrus got new shoes. Giant 700 X 28 tubeless the fit on my Zipp 404's. Sweet. New rear brake pads too. Go fast and stop fast too. Woo Hoo!

Added some 32c conti gp 5000 tl. After testing them, i can confidently say that tl tires make a huge difference in improving how the bike feels.

Thanks guys. We had a significant amount of snowfall last week and I thought it would be prudent to get the bike prepped for an early winter season. All that snow has melted now and the forecast looks like warmer temperatures are here to stay at least another week. Go figure. Not complaining as it just means more saddle time on my road bike.

My '95 Trek 730 got a new bottom bracket yesterday evening. It made me happy to find that the original BB-LP25 wasn't seriously rusted in place.
Rode it this morning; very nice.

Finally received both of my new wheels with Velocity rims. Also installed the Panaracer Gravel King SK tires. Then took out for a 15 mile test ride on the C&O, even though it was 35 degrees this morning. What a great upgrade combination to the bike. Finally have this bike the way I like and am enjoying.

In a move that I'm probably going to live to regret in the future, I put both 7.6 FX's up for sale. Between them, the two Dahons (on of which may also end up being sent off as well) and an as-of-yet disassembled vintage Raleigh, I've got too many bikes and I'm getting in too few miles (the inner demons are especially active these days, and the outer ones are clawing to get in 😈)

Pulled my Fuji Traverse and Urban Man cruiser out of the garage, filled the tires, cleaned them all up, lubed, etc. and am ready to start riding again after a couple of years of getting away from it. I've put on close to 30lbs in the last year and biking will be a big part of me losing it. I also found a box of parts that I was going to add to my Traverse earlier but never got around to it and am thinking I'll start adding them too. Maybe a new bike is in order if I can keep up on it?
