On our streets, country roads and extensive bike paths my much loved Chris Kvale comes off the hook as a first choice almost every time.
To be truthful, it usually makes me wonder why I own any other road bicycles.
Just for grins, I ordered a set of Challenge Parigi Roubaixs to run on this bicycle.
No complaints about the Veloflex Masters, just trying other options.
Off road, it has to be my Salsa Fargo. If I would have known how much fun this bicycle was, I would have ordered one a few years ago when they came onto the market.
It is unbelievably versatile and I have logged just over 1,300 miles since I picked it up in December.
Bring on the fire roads.

Yeah DD I ride the gitane about once a week .Today I rode my fuji sagres on a 40 miler really like how that valite frame rides.

I ride the trails the most, so my Lynskey Pro 29er gets the most saddle time. It does have modified Shimano XTR 960 road cranks.
For C&V purposes, my Pug gets the most road time, as I usually ride the road when the Trails are too wet. It's kind of my winter beater and is so fun to ride.

I ride my modern bike or a stationary bike most of the time. The biggest reason is road salt, gear ratios, pedals and leather saddles. I like seeing the bikes with close ratio gears, I like vintage pedals on my bike but don't have many suitable shoes and it's cold and hilly here. If it starts to rain the old bike is instantly off the road.
I beat myself on the new junk and the old bikes are for pure pleasure. Ill bet if I bought some of those furry Rivat shoes things might be different.

For vintage bikes, it's the trusty 88 Nishiki Ariel mountain bike, the bike that got me back into cycling. I use it 90% of the time I ride MUPS and far more often than any of the other vintage rides. But for pure single track mountain biking, I ride a late model Stumpjumper and for road biking a late model Giant carbon.

This one gets ridden at least 2-3 times a week on errand runs and whenever the roads are wet. My Univega Alpina gets used most often when I don't need a rack or trailer hitch, but I try to mix up the rotation a little bit when not doing errands to justify keeping the keepers

My favourite rider is my 1991 Giannella SL. Outfitted with the OEM Dura-Ace 7400 series, it's a nice balance of vintage and modern. I really like STI and dual pivot brakes and having 8 cogs is increasingly beneficial with the ever weakening legs. I've got carbon fibre and aluminum Pinarello frames from the past decade with Campagnolo Chorus 10 speed. If I was still racing, I'd probably be using them a lot more, as they truly are superior in that application, but I find the resonation of the drive train noises to be annoying when I'm out for a relaxing ride or commmuting, which is what I do these days. I find the Dura-Ace to be superior to the modern Campgnolo Chorus 10 speed. It's also better than the C-Record and Superbe Pro on my two other circa 1991 bicycles.
I'm currently rebuilding a 1990 Rocky Mountain Hammer with street tires, fenders, rear racks and a lighting system. It will become my commuter.
