Took a nice ride over to the beach for what I would say is my first ride this year that wasn't for commuting. Forgot to snap a pic of the beach but the weather was kinda crummy anyway. Maybe next time when the weather is better I'll grab a nice pic for some of you to daydream to.

5/13 - 25 miles
Goal:148/300 miles

+63.29, first 4.5 miles was with both sons, after that I was solo. Second day of beautiful weather. Got up to 80°F today with hardly a breath of wind. Great ride through rural Kittitas valley.

I got in 16 miles through the woods yesterday, up to 119.5 for the month. Still have a pretty good shot at making 200.

You folks that get to ride for a commute can rack up the miles quick.
I can't even get clipped in before I'm at work

Got some decent riding in this weekend; up to 213.5 MTD. Still shooting for 450 for the month, it's going to be tough!

Nobody says you have to ride DIRECTLY to work.

I can't either - it's just not worth riding from the kitchen to the spare bedroom, which is where I have my office. I do take the dog for a 2 mile walk in the AM though.

IBOHUNT for what it is worth I nearly always take the short direct route to work and mostly a longer route home. Although when combined most days are less than 20 miles, during the week. it is the long rides on the weekends that really pile on the miles.

I'm the opposite. Weekday commutes are where I can rake in the most miles (23 miles a day). I usually don't have much time on the weekends to ride more than about 25-30 miles. Unfortunately, I've been sick for the past 2 weeks, and am far from where I should be at only about 70 miles for the month - and the month is nearly 1/2 over already.

It certainly does help is the major portion of my miles. I either go to or from work about 3-4 times a week.

This is true. Just like I had to increment my way to a full one way trip you may be able to find a route that adds as many miles as you want.

I dodged raindrops in to work tonight! Not a big deal to most, but I usually bail pretty quick when there's rain (even a heavy dew!) involved.

Move further away. lol!

I love commuting. Some people say it gets boring but I guess I have not experienced that yet. If I need to go to the bike shop after work, like I did yesterday, it is a short 1 or so miles out of my way. I love commuting. Some days are easier then others, especially with some jerks on the road but for the most part, I love all aspects of it. Love it when it is warm and raining too which makes it even more fun to ride. But I like when it rains and is warm during the day versus in the morning.
