Oh, that's awful to hear.
Sending massive good vibes out to Jim. I hope you recover fast and strong and are back riding you bike before you know it.

The driver said "he thought he hit something last night"...........with the front windshield totally shattered.
I don't think I'm buying his story, whatever it might be. But he did turn him in.............after he'd sobered up maybe???

I posted on the original thread, but wanted to respond here, as well. Those of us that have met Jim know what a good man he is: very personable, possessing a great sense of humor, intelligence, and a sincere interest in others. As a cyclist, he is a devoted commuter and trains long and hard for his distance rides. I truly hope everyone who reads this thread takes a moment to send good thoughts and prayers for his swift and complete recovery. (And if you have an extra minute, pray he wasn't riding his beloved Bridgestone when the accident occurred.) Get Well Soon, Jim!!!

I'm not the praying sort, but I sincerely hope Jim heals well and his love of cycling is not diminished by this. It will take time for the physical recovery, and longer for the emotional one. I am sure he will get all the support he can from this and other forums here on BFs.
Jim has always impressed me as a generous, kind and intelligent cycling enthusiast. We need more of him.

Jim will be on my prayer board for the time it takes for his recovery. Prayers from our home to him and his family for a complete recovery with no complications.

Will include Jim in all my thoughts and prayers. I lived in Boston most of my life, tough place to ride even though downtown has many students on bikes. Last week a student was hit and killed by an MBTA bus, this is the third fatality in 3 three years. Sad all around. I sincerly wish Jim a speedy recovery.
