What tire and tube for this rim?

Sun M-14A Rim - 16", 36H, Black
OR

I guess those are the same rim? The one says 349x18.9, the other says different. Whichever one is easier to find a tire for is the one I want. I messaged them with no reply yet.

I am hoping to find a 16 inch 36 hole rim to go with my (necessary) 36 hole hub. Those look ideal, very light. But of course I need a tire and tube for it.

Anybody know what tire and tube goes with either of those rims, available in the USA?

Thanks!

This is a ISO 349 rim and the rim is 12.4mm wide. It is a wheel size used on some recumbent bikes. As to the tire width, check out Sheldon Brown's tire size chart https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html It's the red and green chart about 3/4 the way down the article. The closest number in his chart is 13mm so you could use tire and tube sizes labeled ISO 349 X 18 at the narrow end to ISO 349 X 25 at the widest. Those are pretty narrow tires. 25mm is just shy of 1".

I took a quick look at 349 tires on one of the major recumbent shops (Hostel Shoppe in Wisconsin) and they don't carry a tire that narrow. It's an odd size wheel and that explains why most recumbent manufactures use 20" wheels. Much better selection for tires and tubes.

IMHO, the Sun-Ringle rim is so narrow that tire choices will be limited, and also any tires will be hard to mount due to lack of room.
