The cable splitter is for gear or bake wires (not enclosed cables), and requires wires that run bare. If you have continuous housing, the cable splitter simply can't help you.

Here's a link to the daVinci site and a photo that should explain it all.

An S&S coupled frame without cable stops? Shame on the framebuilder who added the couplers for not addressing this with you! I had a frame built with S&S couplers and the framebuilder forgot to add a cable stop for the rear brake cable as requested (the un-coupled frame is intended to have full-length brake housing). The builder took the frame back and added the stop at his expense. Now, this was a new frame, not a retrofit, but still....

I have a high tolerance for ugly, and those problem solvers are ugly in the extreme. How about something like this?

Well, if the retrofitter won't take it back and redo it, and and you're unwilling to find another framebuilder to attach cable stops (shouldn't be too hard / expensive, though paint will need to be retouched), then it will come down to what size tubing your frame is. I know from past searches that there are some options around for 28.6 and 31.8 diameter tubing, but if you're putting this on, say, an oversized downtube (34.9mm, like I was), then you're only option is to have the stop(s) brazed on.

Here is a page with various alternatives if you're frame can accommodate them:
