The upside to social distancing...

Remember all those crazy garlic recipes you wanted to make...

garlic bread
garlic shrimp
ginger garlic stir fry
white garlic sauce pasta
pesto

Hey, go for it.

Meh. I regularly cook with garlic, so nothing has changed for me. Tonight’s lemon caper sauce had garlic in it. I even take a head with me when I tour.

Garlic, otherwise known as Italian Penicillin, is a standard item in the Bottecchia kitchen.

My wife cooks with it so much that there are times I have to ask her not to or she would be putting it in almost everything.

I planted German garlic last fall. It's coming up nicely. Garlic is a year round ingredient in my kitchen.

Oh sure, garlic is a normal ingredient in my cooking too.. However, these days... you can go "super garlic."

I made a garlic shrimp recipe years ago that called for simply a dozen whole cloves of garlic, and 14 large prawns, all stir fried together. BAM!

I have since done the same concept with coarse chopped veggies... and several whole cloves of garlic... and a hot wok... delicious!

And of course, roasted whole heads of garlic... yum.

I thought this was gonna be about clear skies over L.A., the Himalayas, etc.

But yeah, garlic is yummy. There is such a thing as too much garlic [and onions]. But it's a LOT.

Try Mark Bittman’s monkfish in bitter garlic sauce. It calls for an entire head of garlic cloves, slivered. It will put hair on your chest, as my father used to say.

Now we're talking. And of course the upside is automatic social distancing... and warding off vampires to boot!

As a Hispanic man, I approve of this entire thread. Growing up, my Mom cooked with garlic every day of my life. That diet has made me the man I am today. Besides that, no one in my family has ever been bitten by a vampire, proof of the efficacy of such a diet.
