The sign is for anyone who hasn't heard of coronavirus. From my visits to stores there are, unfortunately, plenty.

In local stores where I am, there are one way traffic patterns... and roped off access to cashiers, and a "traffic control person" to ensure that there is only one person at a cashier at a time. Everyone wears masks... and the cashiers have "banker's shields." Shopping carts are sprayed down when they are returned from the lot. You select a cart from the "clean bin." A guard is at the entrance to ensure that everyone has a mask, and the number of people in the store does not exceed "capacity."

Shelves are minimally stocked... so they are easily cleaned. Cleaning supplies themselves are still in short supply. I bought a bottle of Mexican label Clorox a few weeks ago... same stuff as US, but all the instructions were in Spanish. BFD... same stuff, but people were not buying it. It even had the Clorox logo on it.

I was in Walmart a couple days ago. Less than half the customers had masks; most didn't. There was a flow control person up front but they weren't doing squat, people were just streaming in. I wore a mask and kept my distance.

In Siberia you need to stay one small bear away from other people, in Montana it's four large trout.

They need to translate that into 6 packs so Hondo can judge his distance better.

They must have changed standards in Russia. In the past there was no distance standard, you just kept one person between you and the bear

I just tried your idea but it didn't work. It may have been because I'm 5'8".

was that photo taken in the beer aisle? Wait until a hot mid-summer's day and see how many Texans obey that 6 ft rule (hint - it'll be less that 1).

Get a bluetooth model, then your phone can send an alert when you are low on lead.

I'm farting in stores and buses to ensure safe distance. Seems to work. Switching to legume protein powder and sugar alcohol sweeteners in vegan energy bars -- turbocharged.

Folks were at least middling-careful until May 1. About half the folks on the buses, about half the cashiers, maybe 1/3 of the customers.

But since May 1 they seem to think it's all over with, party time. People just cannot buy a clue.

Sad thing is the most vulnerable demographic -- people over age 60 -- seem to be the most clueless. I had to stop at the store to pick up a few things I'm out of. The cashier was new to me, appeared to be older (I'm 62) and the store is doing absolutely nothing about the health precautions, other than to play recorded messages that most folks ignore.

Traffic is back to the usual simmering hostility. The town feels like it's on the verge of rage. I'm seeing more police patrols than usual. I don't think they're out here to enforce social distancing. They're anticipating outbreaks of violence a summer approaches and the cumulative stress and anxiety fuel fears.

Barring a miracle, such as a mutation to a less virulent form, It's gonna get ugly this autumn. Probably much worse than it's already been.

not so sure I'd trust that one, but I need to learn how to use an ATM for deposits during all this. Problem is I have 4 checking accounts at 4 banks, none of them Wells Fargo...this was going to a laid off daughter 'cross country.

Rarely. There is an ATM at work that I'll pick up some WAM about once a month. Otherwise, my checks are direct deposit and payments done online.

Has she been able to file for unemployment. That's been the obstacle for most. With the Government's $600 on top of what states give some folks are making out.

I don't make enough money to file taxes, and got a check 23 days after I used the IRS Non Filler page. A paper check.

Sorry off topic.

This photo was taken recently by a crew plowing in Glacier National Park. The bear appears to get the whole social distancing thing.
