Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I love my white shoes. I don't know about woolite. All I've ever done is wipe off mud & grit if they were on the shoes. Somewhere along the way, I might have used some kind of soap while doing this. My shoes, almost 20 years old, aren't shiny anymore, but, it remains clear that they are white in color.

ooh boy.

Take a terry cotton towel and a 50/50 mix of orange (don't use anything chemical based, no 409, etc) degreaser and water. Almost all the road 'stains' should buff right out. There will be some normal wear but you can keep your shoes looking 90% for a really long time. If you have mesh sections of your shoe, you might try making a paste out of some tide (the kind with bleach, working it in there, letting it soak, and then using some kind of pressurized water source (garden hose) to blast it out. Take out the insoles, toss em in cold wash w/ detergent in the machine and let them air dry.

You could also stuff the shoes with newspaper for an hour after you wash them to absorb most of the water and cut drying time below a day.

YMMV though.
good luck!

Now there's a good return on your investment.

Mr Clean Magic eraser works on the vinyl parts...

when the mesh gets to icky to tolerate, I pull out the insoles, and run em through the dishwasher with mr clean or pine sol (no dish soap, it's too harsh on aluminum, no laundry soap its too foamy).

I use speedplay pedals, so I lube the cleats with finsih line wax lube when they are dry. But they only hit the machine once a year, if that.
