Life is all about compromises and trade-offs. I love my group thrashes on the road and they’re a risk I’m willing to take. The crash risk probably outweighs the risk of infection, anyway. A party could be just as important to someone, but I’d turn right around if it didn’t look safe. I’m not clear on how masks and/or distancing go with eating drinking and yukking it up.

You should set aside tomorrow for some NFL viewing. Undefeated Steelers vs undefeated Titans. And the undefeated Seahawks vs the slightly defeated Cardinals. 10am and 5pm MST.

Is there a specific time when we all sing Rocky top or do they just start when the mood strikes?

Poor Stephen the cat got blocked again just a couple of days after his release. He’s going under the knife early next week.

Something I keep wondering about - why am I so much slower on my Trek than my Schwinn? Like on average by around 2mph, regardless of ride length.
38mm tires vs 28mm? (Compass extralights vs Panaracer GK slicks)
Much less aggressive position plus big ol' handlebar bag on the Trek?
30-35lbs vs 22lbs?
Not sure what I can do fit-wise. The frame is so big, and the stem can only go so low...
Sometimes I feel like just embracing the slow life and throwing flat pedals on the thing. But I'm also frustrated at how slow I am when I'm on it.

Yesterday, I intentionally went for a PB on a 5 mile Strava segment, and while I came close, I didn't get it. I thought it was because I blew up near the end, but it turns out that the segment starts right at my turnaround point on yesterday's ride, and Strava in its infinite wisdom started my time the FIRST time I passed the beginning of the segment, GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION! I figured this out by doing a 'Compare' with my PR on that segment. In the replay, yesterday's dot goes backwards then forwards. If I figure subtract the time I spent going past the start, turning around, and getting back to it, I was actually 35 seconds FASTER.
BTW, you can also see the point where I blew up. If I'd known I was doing that well, I might have kept going a bit longer.
This was the last post-work ride of the next-to-last week of post-work riding. The sun had just dropped below the hills when I got back to the car.

Pitt is getting beat 45-3 by ND. Sad. The Vols are not fairing well against the Tide.
