9 speed cassette on 8 speed freehub

As title, can I fit a Miche 9 speed cassette on a freehub that currently has an 8 speed Sram cassette? Also, just occurred to me, can I fit the 8 onto the freehub that the 9 speed will come off ?

Yes, probably. Shimano hyperglide 8, 9, and 10 speed hubs are all the same width, and interchangeable. Some older 10 speed free-hubs might not work, and 9 and 11 tooth cogs can be a problem, according to Sheldon Brown. And Uniglide, an older kind of freehub, is a bit different.
